Hazardous Weather Discussion
A Tropical Storm Watch is posted for Monmouth, Ocean, SE Burlington, Atlantic, and Cape May Counties. There is a Coastal Flood Watch for Hudson, eastern Essex and eastern Union Counties. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect from midnight Mon to 6 AM Wed for coastal waters. Minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible through Wed. Moderate flooding may occur Tuesday with high tides.
Impacts to New Jersey
Potential impacts include gusty winds, power outages, downed trees, rip currents, heavy surf, and minor to moderate flooding along the coast, back bays and tidal waters. Winds gusting over 30 mph are possible at the coast Tuesday. Localized heavy rain may cause ponding on roads and low-lying areas. Heavy seas and surf with elevated rip current risk will create dangerous beach conditions.
