David Owens of Highland arrested after failing to yield and being in possession of a firearm

INCIDENT: Failure to Yeild and Convicted Felon with Firearm
LOCATION: Pacific/ Victoria Ave
SUSPECT(S): David Owens, 26 year old resident of Highland
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: Deputies from the Highland Gang Team initiated a traffic stop on David Owens. He failed to yield and drove for several miles through the city. During the pursuit, Owens threw a gun out of his vehicle. With the assistance of Highland Deputies and Sheriff's Aviation, Owens was apprehended and the gun was recovered. Owens was found to be on active parole. He was arrested and booked at the Central Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
