Suspect Arrested With Property Stolen From Local Vehicles.

On 09-08-17 at approximately 8:15 AM, Ripon officers responded to an emergency report of a male, yelling at and chasing a female on foot northbound on Roxie Drive.

Officers immediately responded to the area and made contact with the male and female. The male was found to be in possession of a credit card that had been stolen from a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 700 block of Nancy Drive on 08-14-17. The male was also in possession of credit cards taken from a vehicle burglary that occurred in the 300 block of Blossom Drive on 05-13-17. He was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and controlled substance paraphernalia. The male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

At the same time officers were dealing with the subjects on Roxie Drive, additional Ripon officers were conducting an attempted residential burglary investigation in the 1400 block of W. Fourth Street.

Evidence was obtained linking the male and female that officers contacted on Roxie Dr. to the attempted residential burglary investigation. The female was taken into custody at that time.

The female suspect was identified as being Megan Michelle Alvarado (27) of Ripon. She was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included attempted burglary, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools.

The male suspect was identified as being Robert Mitchell Johnston (25) of Ripon. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges that included attempted burglary, receiving known stolen property, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
