Moore County Sheriff’s Office teams up with Pinehurst United Methodist Church to distribute “File of Life” kits.

Moore County Sheriff’s Office teams up with Pinehurst United Methodist Church to distribute “File of Life” kits at ACE Hardware in Southern Pines.

Members of Pinehurst United Methodist Church and Moore County Sheriff’s Deputy, Deputy Moses Soto distributed over 250 File of Life kits to customers visiting Ace Hardware in Southern Pines on Saturday, September 9, 2017. The File of Life kits are provided to Moore County Residents by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.

“Medical emergencies can happen anytime. When they do, there is confusion, panic and urgency. First responders and emergency medical personnel arrive on the scene with no information about the person in need. Seconds count – and can make the difference between life and death. Does the patient have prior medical conditions? Allergies? What medications are they taking? File of Life puts these answers at their fingertips. It allows first responders to immediately begin the best possible treatment, notify loved ones, and pass vital data on to awaiting physicians at the emergency room. File of Life is an absolute asset to emergency preparedness, and peace of mind, for every household.”

The kit is a magnet placed on a refrigerator or other convenient area of the home, where First Responders can have access to critical information in an emergency.

“It’s very simple and at the same time, has the power to save lives. We are grateful that various agencies within our community are willing to help us with this cause. I thank United Methodist Church for their help in distributing these valuable tools for our citizens” Sheriff Godfrey said.

In order to acquire your own File of Life kit, you can: visit the Wellness Department at Pinehurst Medical Clinic, they are also available at the Pinehurst United Methodist Church or you may contact the Sheriff’s Office at (910) 947-2931.
