Attention Rutgers Community:
The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating an aggravated assault which is reported to have occurred on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at approximately 12:43 AM on Delafield Street between Courtland and Bristol Streets.
In this incident the victim, who is affiliated with Rutgers University, reported being approached by a male perpetrator following a verbal altercation which took place outside of a party located at an off campus residence. The perpetrator assaulted the victim with a sharp object and then fled the area. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
A description of the perpetrator is limited at this time.
The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, to contact the New Brunswick Police Department Detective Bureau at 732-745-5217.

• Immediately reporting suspicious activity to local law enforcement;
• Remaining alert and aware of the people and circumstances around you;
• Avoid isolated or dark areas;
