The ocean is producing powerful rip currents which can and will challenge even experienced swimmers. LBTBP and LBTPD are strongly urging everyone to ONLY swim on a guarded beach. The 68th street beach in Long Beach Township is guarded from 10am  to 5pm during the month of September.

Please recognize that if you decide to swim and find yourself in trouble, help does not just magically appear. It takes critical minutes to respond to your location and in that time, it may be too late. 
To report an ocean or beach emergency, dial 9-1-1. Notify the dispatcher your street location (and town) in addition to number of victims in distress.
