INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: US Highway 395/Palmdale Road

VICTIM: Cornelius Turner, 45-year old Victorville resident (deceased)

SUMMARY:
UPDATE: Upon further investigation, it was discovered another vehicle may have been involved in the traffic collision. The other vehicle is described as a gray SUV, possibly a Jeep, which may have damage to the left front bumper area. On Friday, September 1, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a motorcycle collision, near the intersection of US Highway 395 and Palmdale Road.

Upon arrival, deputies determined the rider of a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling north on US Highway 395 and for unknown reasons lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause of the collision. US Highway 395 was closed between Palmdale Road and Seneca Road for approximately 7 hours, and reopened at approximately 6:20 a.m.
