Two Recent Road Rage Incidents

Two "Road Rage" Incidents occurred last week. The first occurred on Aug. 25, 2017 at 1:45 PM in North Codorus Twp. on Stoverstown Rd. Driver One pulled in front of another when entering the road from Sunnyside Rd. Driver Two rode very close to the rear of the other and both parties became upset due to the other's driving. Driver One stopped in the center of the roadway and exited the vehicle and walked to the other's vehicle. A passenger then sprayed pepper spray into the face of Driver One. Driver Two then left the scene. Both parties did contact the police department and gave differing versions of the incident. Charges could not be filed with the District Attorney's Office due to the varying accounts of the event.

The second incident occurred in Heidelberg Twp. on Sept. 1, 2017 at 11:50 AM when a vehicle was following a motorcycle eastbound on SR 116 near Smith Station Rd. The driver of the car advised that the motorcycle slowed because it appeared that the driver of the motorcycle was texting. The car passed the motorcycle, apparently upsetting the motorcyclist. The motorcycle then passed the car and struck the left side mirror of the car with an unknown object from underneath the jacket of the motorcyclist. The mirror of the car was damaged. The motorcyclist was described as W/M, mid 20's in age, beard, wearing a black and red helmet and jacket.

Motorists are reminded that serious damage and injuries can occur when a conflict happens on the roadway; when one or both parties decide to get involved in a conflict. If you are the victim of a road rage incident, take note of the description of the other driver and vehicle and avoid the other party, and contact 911. If anyone has additional information of the driver of the motorcycle, they are asked to contact the Southwestern Regional Police at 717.225.1333 x 100 or York County Emergency Services at 717.854.5571.
