Suspect Sought in Cockfighting Investigation

INCIDENT: PC 597j- Raising Gamecocks for Fighting; PC 597i – Possession of Cockfighting Implements
SUSPECT(S): Edgar Boiso, 07/04/88
SUMMARY: The Sheriff Department’s Rural Crime Task Force received information of a possible cockfighting location in Hesperia. Through investigation it was determined the property was, in fact, being used as a breeding and training location for cockfighting.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2017, deputies from the Rural Crime Task Force, along with Victor Valley and Hesperia detectives, served a search warrant at a residence on the 9000 block of Cottonwood Ave in Hesperia. During the search warrant, multiple implements of cockfighting were found, including cockfighting knifes, cockfighting paraphernalia, and a training facility. During the investigation, 132 roosters were seized from the location.
The primary suspect, Edgar Boiso, was not at the location during the service of the search warrant, however Boiso is wanted for questioning in this case and another case for assault with a deadly weapon.
