ACCUSED: Amy M. Mauer, 36-year-old Female // Long Branch, NJ

NARRATIVE:

On August 28th, 2017 at approximately 10:15am Amy Mauer was at the Police Department retrieving items from the Records Bureau. During this time, Mauer used the public bathroom in the lobby to ingest heroin. Police Officer Nicholas Castellano was alerted by civilian staff after Mauer became incoherent.

Further investigation by Castellano along with Sergeant Timothy Macom and Lieutenant Eduardo Segarra confirmed that Mauer had ingested heroin and three doses of Narcan were administered. The Oakhurst First Aid transported her to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further treatment.

Mauer was charged with Possession of Heroin, Hypodermic Syringe and Drug Paraphernalia. She was released on a criminal summons pending a future court appearance.
