...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT WEDNESDAY... ...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A HIGH SURF ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6:00 AM WEDNESDAY.

* LOCATION...COASTAL OCEAN COUNTY.

* RISK OF RIP CURRENTS...HIGH.

* SURF HEIGHT...WAVES IN THE SURF ZONE WILL BUILD TO 6 TO 8 FEET TODAY WITH A SWELL PERIOD AROUND 8 SECONDS. THE SURF HEIGHT WILL DECREASE SLOWLY ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.

* BEACH EROSION...POSSIBLY CONSIDERABLE DUE TO A BUILDING EASTERLY SWELL AROUND 8 SECONDS TURNING INTO A LONGER PERIOD NORTHEAST SWELL OF 10 SECONDS TONIGHT. THE SWELL SHOULD DECREASE SLOWLY ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY IN THE WAKE OF THE DEPARTING COASTAL STORM.

* TIDAL FLOODING...SPOTTY MINOR FLOODING IS EXPECTED DURING THIS AFTERNOON`S HIGH TIDE CYCLE. THE COMBINATION OF WAVES ON TOP OF A 1.5 TO POSSIBLY 2 FOOT SURGE MAY IMPACT SOME SEASIDE COMMUNITIES WITH LOCALIZED MINOR FLOODING. ANY TIDAL FLOODING MAY BE EXACERBATED WHERE LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN OCCURS.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* IMPACTS...POTENTIAL INJURY OR LIFE THREATENING CONDITIONS FOR ANYONE WHO VENTURES INTO THE ATLANTIC COASTAL WATERS TODAY AND TONIGHT. THERE MAY BE LOCALIZED FLOODING THIS AFTERNOON FROM A COMBINATION OF TIDES AND RAINFALL RUNOFF.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL OCEAN
