Sheriff's deputies seek public's help identifying suspect in credit card fraud case.

Sonoma County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a credit card fraud and are requesting help from the public. On Sunday, August 13th at about 3:40 PM a man fueled up his car at the Chevron gas station in the 500 block of W. Napa in Sonoma. He accidentally left his wallet on top of his car and drove off.

Shortly thereafter he received a phone call from the fraud department of his credit card company advising that there was suspected fraud activity on his account. He learned a suspect found his wallet and took his credit cards to four stores in Sonoma and bought $1,000 worth of gift cards.

Deputies investigated the incident and found the video surveillance matched the same suspect at the different locations using the victim’s credit cards. The deputies took photographs of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help. If anyone recognizes the suspect in these photographs we are requesting they contact Deputy Matthias Williams at 707-565-2121.
