Boating accident on Lake Havasu near Chalk Cliffs, no injuries reported.

OPERATOR: Guy Williamson, 50-year-old, resident of Queensland, Australia
PASSENGER: Travis Barron, 44-year-old, resident of Lake Havasu City, Arizona
INVOLVED BOAT: Red 2017 Nordic Carbo Ski Boat, 21 feet long
SUMMARY: On August 22, 2017, at approximately 2:35 PM, deputies from the Colorado River Station - Marine Enforcement Unit responded to a boating accident involving a 2017 Nordic Carbon ski boat on Lake Havasu. The boat operator, Guy Williamson, was travelling at approximately 30 miles per hour in the area of Chalk Cliffs when it began to make a left turn. During the turning movement Williamson felt a vibration coming from the rear of the boat. The boat began to roll during the turn, causing Williamson and the passenger, Travis Barron, to be ejected. Williamson and Barron did not suffer any injuries from the collision and refused medical treatment. The boat began to sink as a result of the accident. Sea Tow assisted with the recovery of the boat.
