On August 23, 2017, at 9:23 A.M. Deputy Jennifer Robb and Training Officer Sergeant Bruce Vanoven conducted a traffic stop on a Silver in color 1998 Jeep Cherokee for having false and fictitious plates at the intersection of Morton and Gibson in Oakland City. During a roadside investigation the driver 38 year old Douglas Jacobson of Huntingburg gave Sergeant Vanoven consent to search his vehicle and Sergeant Vanoven located a piece of paraphernalia inside the vehicle. At the end of their investigation Sergeant Vanoven placed Mr. Jacobson into custody and he was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia. He remains in custody on a $450 bond.
