On August 19, 2017, at 1:53 a.m. Deputy Bryan Small conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle near the intersection of State Road 64 and West Street in Oakland City for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Small identified the driver as 40 year old Tommy Alvey Jr. of Oakland City, Indiana. While speaking with Deputy Small Mr. Alvey admitted to consuming alcohol, and Deputy Small began a roadside DUI investigation to check Mr. Alvey’s level of impairment. At the end of the roadside investigation Mr. Alvey was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Small in his investigation was Officer Grant Fulkerson of the Oakland City Police Department.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
