On 8/20/2017 at approximately 6:33pm, the Janesville Police Department received a report of a tan suburban driving into oncoming traffic in the area of E. Centerway St. and Milton Ave. Officers located the vehicle in the area of W. Court St. and Arch St and began following the vehicle west on W. Court St. While following the vehicle officers observed erratic driving.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of W. Court St and Austin Road. The vehicle failed to stop, and continued westbound on HWY 11 at 60mph. Officers pursued the vehicle westbound on Hwy 11 until the vehicle pulled to the side of the road on HWY 11, west of County Road H.

The operator of the vehicle Daniel J Rivers was unable to stand unassisted and exhibited signs of intoxication. Rivers was arrested for 8th Offense Felony OWI, and failing to stop for officers.
