Sheriff's helicopter rescues injured bicyclist at Annadel State Park.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Helicopter “Henry-One” made a rescue of a mountain bicyclist in Annadel State Park on Saturday. At about 11:30 AM the Sheriff’s Office received a call of an injured bicyclist at the park. Henry One flew to the area and located the 69-year-old San Rafael woman who had crashed on her bike. Deputies from the helicopter directed a medical team to her location. She was evaluated and determined to have a significant hip injury and a laceration that prevented her from walking out of the park.

Deputies set up a long-line rescue where a deputy flew in on the end of a rope with a basket attached. The deputy secured her for transport in the basket. The pilot flew back to the scene where they secured the deputy and the victim in the basket. They then flew her to an awaiting ambulance on Channel Drive. She was then transported to a local hospital by paramedics.
