Summer is a popular vacation time for families. Below are several recommendations to increase your safety while enjoying the end of summer.

  1. If you plan on taking an extended trip contact the post office and any newspapers which you receive and request a hold on all deliveries to prevent mail from building up. Stacks of delivered papers and mail are an easy indicator which criminals look for.
  2. Ask a neighbor you trust to keep an on your home for any unusual activity, and be sure to provide that neighbor with your cell phone number.
  3. As you are well aware, the summer heat has arrived in full force. While working or enjoying outdoor activities please be aware of the increased risk of a heat stroke.  Embedded in this article is a link to a list of the signs and symptoms of a heat stroke. If you believe someone is experiencing a heat stroke do not hesitate to call 911. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/heat-stroke/basics/symptoms/con-20032814
