* Flood Advisory for... Cherokee County in southeastern Kansas...
* Until 1045 AM CDT
* At 447 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain has already fallen. Local law enforcement reports some minor street flooding in Galena and water over a roadway near Treece along the Oklahoma border.
* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding. Locations in the advisory include... Baxter Springs... Columbus... Galena... Cherokee... Weir... Lowell... Sherman... Scammon... West Mineral... Treece... Roseland... Neutral... Melrose... Riverton... Lawton... Carona... Skidmore... Hallowell... Sherwin... Faulkner... This advisory includes but is not limited to the following low water crossings... Highway 7 at Little Cherry Creek north of Columbus. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be likely through the mid morning hours over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
