Violent assault suspect arrested

On 8/8/17 around 1 p.m., Officers responded to the area of 36th and Wisconsin to investigate a reported violent assault.  The victim was then transported to the emergency room for treatment.

The preliminary investigation found that victim was offered a ride by the suspect in the area of Minnesota Drive and Spenard Road. The victim didn’t know the suspect. As the victim walked away from the vehicle, the suspect tackled her, got on top of her, grabbed her neck with both hands to strangle her and told her he was going to kill her.  He then strangled her until she went unconscious. The suspect then did things sexually to himself while she was unconscious. After the assault, the suspect left the victim and drove to work at the Ted Stevens International Airport where he is employed as an Air Traffic Controller.

The suspect has been identified as Justin Schneider (33-years-old). He was taken into custody last night for an outstanding warrant associated to this case.  He faces charges of 2nd Degree Assault, 3rd Degree Assault and 1st Degree Harassment.
