UPDATE: LOCATED - Missing Anza resident, Spencer Hayes, has been located safely and unharmed.

On Monday, August 7, 2017, at approximately 9:17 A.M., deputies assigned to the Hemet Station responded to the 51000 Block of Deer Springs Trail, Anza, in reference to a kidnapping.

Investigation revealed three unidentified Hispanic male adults and one unidentified white female adult arrived at the residence at approximately 3:00 AM and contacted the victim, identified as 28-year-old Anza resident Spencer Hayes. Two of the suspects allegedly brandished handguns and had the victim cut down and give them some marijuana plants that he had been cultivating at the location. The victim then left the residence with the suspects in their vehicle. At this time Hayes is considered to have been abducted against his will.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is committed to the safety of the community and will be vigilant in investigating all crimes of this nature.
