Police charge second 16-year-old male in East University Parkway homicide, Police are not searching for any other suspects
 
In the ongoing investigation, Jackson police Investigators developed the case and identified a second 16-year-old male suspect involved in the July 13 homicide of Michael Jerod Harris.
 
The teen was charged and surrendered today to U. S. Marshals in Jackson. He is in custody at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center and is scheduled for an initial appearance and detention hearing at 11 a.m., Tuesday in Madison County Juvenile Court.
 
Back on July 20, Jackson police charged the first 16-year-old male in the homicide of Harris. He remains in custody at the Madison County Juvenile Detention Center and awaits a Sept. 6 hearing.
 
Police are not searching for any other suspects in connection with this case.
 
 RECAP:
 
Around 4:50 a.m. on July 13, police were called about a shooting on East University Parkway. Officers arrived and found Harris, 21, of Jackson, lying on the ground in the 60 block of East University Parkway. Evidence at the scene indicated he was shot outside in the area. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
