Last night a medicinal marijuana facility was robbed at gunpoint and a large amount of cash and marijuana was taken. It happened at about 7:00 PM as the last employee of the business was leaving for the day. This medical marijuana facility is a distribution center located near the Sonoma County Airport. The Sheriff’s Office is not disclosing the name or location in order to protect the victims.
As the victim walked to her car she noticed a red Honda Accord approaching her. The victim got into her car, locked the door and started it but one of the suspects, described as a black male adult wearing black clothing and gloves approached her car door with a handgun. The suspect demanded that she go back into the business with him and she complied.
Once in the business, another black male adult came in and the two suspects ordered the victim to show them to the vault. The victim complied and once in the vault room the suspects forced her to the ground and bound her wrists and ankles with zip ties. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash and marijuana from the vault and fled in the Honda. The suspects’ vehicle was described as a newer dark red Honda with paper plates and tinted windows.
The victim was able to free herself from the zip lock restraints and call for help. Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Detectives were called to the scene and are actively investigating the case.
