Danville Police Set 'Active Shooter' Training for Aug 3
On August 3, 2017, from 8:00am - 12:00 pm, the Town of Danville will conduct their annual ‘active shooter’ emergency training. The location for the exercise will be The Rock Church, 2615 Camino Tassajara. Residents should be aware that the training will involve the use of simulated firearms and explosive sounds. No live ammunition will be used. The training will be limited to the areas within the church grounds and will not extend into the surrounding neighborhoods.
The parking lot at the church will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians. Students and parents of the nearby Stratford School will be allowed access to the school.
The drill is designed to simulate a critical incident and provide response training for law enforcement and fire personnel. Officers from the Danville Police Department and the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District take part in the exercise.
The activities taking place on campus will be simulated for training purposes only. Citizens are asked to avoid the area. No individuals who are not directly involved in the exercise will be allowed on the premises.
