Single vehicle crash at US HWY 41 and Harlan Drive results in two injured.

At approximately 3:20 PM, a Vigo County Sheriff's Deputy was assisting a stranded motorist, on US HWY 41, when he notified dispatch of a motor vehicle crash that had just occurred south of him at the railroad crossing north of Harlan Drive.

A maroon 2012 Toyota Tacoma driven by 18yr old Sandeep K. Sadra, of Terre Haute, was traveling north bound in the driving lane as she approached the Deputy that was stopped on the side of the road with his emergency lights activated. Sadra attempted to merge over into the left lane not seeing a motorcycle next to her until she had already initiated her lane change. Sadra immediately over corrected causing her truck to go off the roadway briefly before striking the railroad crossing signal on the east side of the roadway. The impact caused the truck to lose its front passenger side tire, travel across both north bound lanes, and finally come to rest partially in the roadway.

Sadra and a front seat passenger suffered minor injuries as a result of the vehicle crash. A third passenger inside of the truck at the time of the crash did not suffer any injuries.

All three individuals were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. The motorcyclist was not struck during this event.
