*Update*LASD SEB, Barricaded Susp Surrenders at 3500 blk Cesar Chavez Ave, East LA, Evacuees Allowed to Return Home
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) has concluded their tactical response regarding the suspect wanted for Attempted Murder, who barricaded himself at the 3500 block of Cesar Chavez Avenue, East Los Angeles. The suspect exited the location and surrendered to deputies.
Members of the LASD Crisis Negotiations Team maintained communication with the suspect and were successful in their attempts to come to a peaceful resolution. The suspect, a 17 year-old male, Hispanic, who was wanted for Attempt Murder by Monterey Park Police Department, surrendered to SEB deputies without further incident.
Once SEB determined the area was safe, all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital to get medically cleared for booking by the Monterey Park Police Department.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) is on scene at the 3500 block of Cesar Chavez Avenue, East Los Angeles, to assist East Los Angeles Station personnel with an Attempt Murder barricaded suspect. The suspect is wanted by the Monterey Park Police Department. Officers from the Monterey Park Police Department are on scene.
The surrounding homes have been evacuated by East Los Angeles Station personnel for the safety of the residents.
The SEB Special Weapons Team has assumed command of the tactical response and the Crisis Negotiation Team is enroute to the scene to help bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.
