Traffic Collision: Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
On Wednesday July 26th, 2017 at 12:45 AM, the Gardena Police Department received a call of a traffic collision on Artesia Blvd. at Normandie Ave. Upon arrival, officers found that a black Toyota Prius occupied by a female had collided with a pedestrian.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the Toyota was westbound on Artesia Blvd. approaching Normandie Ave. A pedestrian was crossing Artesia Blvd. northbound and was struck by the Toyota.
The pedestrian was treated by Los Angeles County Paramedics and then transported to Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He is listed in critical condition at this time. The driver of the Toyota had no apparent injuries. Names are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
This investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the Gardena Police Department’s Traffic Bureau.
