Press Release
Details: On Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 4:33 PM, Corcoran officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1800 block of Dairy Avenue for a physical fight. Upon arrival officers observed a black vehicle attempting to leave. Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted Vincent Viscarra, Adolfo Tellez and another male subject. A female adult at the residence told officers the subjects in the vehicle had kicked in her front door, struck her in the head with a handgun, and began stealing items from her residence. She told officers she called her boyfriend to come help her and when he arrived he was also assaulted by the subjects. The female victim suffered a laceration to her head. Officers detained the subjects and located a concealed knife on Viscarra's person. Inside the vehicle officers located a loaded 9 mm handgun, items belonging to the victims, and two suspicious destructive devices. The devices appeared to be a pipe bomb and what is commonly referred to as a "Molatov Cocktail". The Tulare County Consolidated Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit responded to the scene and rendered the devices safe. Vincent Viscarra and Adolfo Tellez were arrested and booked into the Corcoran Police Department for robbery, burglary, possession of a loaded handgun, possession of a concealed knife, possession of two destructive devices, and a criminal street gang enchancement. They were later transported to the Kings County Jail where they are held on $320,000 bail.
