UPDATE #LASD SEB, Barricaded Susp Surrenders at 200 blk N. 9th St., Azusa, All Evacuees Allowed to Return Home

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) has concluded their tactical response regarding the suspect wanted for Domestic Violence, who barricaded himself at the 200 block of North 9th Street, Azusa.  The suspect exited the location and surrendered to deputies.
 
Members of the LASD Crisis Negotiations Team maintained communication with the suspect and were successful in their attempts to come to a peaceful resolution. The suspect, 39-year-old Ricardo Barrios of Azusa, surrendered to SEB deputies without further incident.
 
Once SEB determined the area was safe, all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes.
 
Barrios was arrested and transported to Azusa Police Department where he was booked for multiple felony charges.

UNIT:                 Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB)
 
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) is responding to the 200 block of 9th Street, Azusa, to assist Azusa Police Department with a Domestic Violence barricaded suspect.  The suspect, a male Hispanic adult, is possibly holding two juveniles hostages. 
 
The surrounding homes have been evacuated by Azusa Police Department personnel for the safety of the residents.
 
The SEB Special Weapons Team has assumed command of the tactical response and the Crisis Negotiation Team is on scene to help bring the situation to a peaceful resolution.
