Theft from Janesville Family Dollar

**UPDATE...Fisher has been located and is in custody.

On 7/22/2017 at about 9:00 a.m. Janesville Police were dispatched to The Family Dollar at 1800 Center Avenue for what was originally believed to be a robbery. The suspect fled the scene in a gray Nissan. As officers arrived and found out the suspect had removed money from behind the cash register without any force used, a Rock County Deputy spotted the suspect vehicle southbound on River Road at a high rate of speed and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons and the suspect vehicle avoided apprehension. The car was later found hidden in a patch of woods in the 4200 block of S. River Rd. and the suspect was seen by a citizen walking away from the area.

It was discovered the suspect, Shane J. Fisher (28) was being sought by Columbia County for a robbery that occurred at a convenience store on July 20th. We are asking the public’s assistance in trying to locate Fisher. His whereabouts are unknown at this time. He was last seen wearing light colored tank top and dark colored shorts.
