The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office has received an increased number of calls for service for thefts from unlocked vehicles as well as motor vehicle thefts.  The Sheriff's Office urges residents to lock vehicle doors and report all suspicious activities, persons and vehicles to the police.  Offenders are ransacking vehicles and taking numerous items including but not limited to loose change, cell phones, GPS's, laptops, residential and vehicle keys and key fobs in addition to other items of value.  The Sheriff's Office values community participation and involvement in order to Create Public Safety, Provide Quality Service and Promote Strong Sustainable Communities.
