Double Trouble for Man Facing Two DUI Charges

Rodney Lee Lehr III, 35 YOA, of York, was stopped twice within a 2 hour period and charged with DUI on both occasions.

On the first occasion on 07.15.17 at 0245 hrs., he was observed traveling west on SR 116 in the area of Colonial Valley Rd., North Codorus Twp. He exhibited very poor driving and was stopped. He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested and taken to a local hospital where his blood was drawn for testing. The suspect was told not to drive a motor vehicle and he was released to a friend who signed a police department responsibility form that advised they would not allow the suspect to drive for a 12 hour period.

At 0415 hrs., 30 minutes after the suspect was released from custody and picked up by a friend, the same officer observed the suspect's vehicle driven by the suspect, driving on SR 116 in Heidelberg Twp. The suspect was again stopped and tests indicated that he was still too intoxicated to drive a motor vehicle. He was again taken to a local hospital and blood was drawn to determine his level of intoxication. On this occasion, due to his previous arrest charges, he was required to remain at the York County Booking Center until he became sober.

Charges are pending in this case.
