#005 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
At 7:23 a.m., dispatch received a call of a male swinging an axe and trying to hit people in the 4100 block of Irvington Ave. Multiple officers respond to the area with lights and siren. Officer LaStrape located Curtis Montgomery (M41, Fremont) near Irvington and Trimboli Way fleeing the scene. It is ultimately learned that Montgomery struck another male in the head with the back of a hatchet, causing minor/superficial wounds. After fleeing, Montgomery discarded the clothing he was wearing and two hatchets in an apartment complex. These items were later recovered. Montgomery was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and transported to Santa Rita. Investigated by Officer Richards.

#013/015 Traffic Collision w/ Injuries
At 11:24 a.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Fremont Blvd. and Beacon Ave. to investigate a collision. It is determined 5 vehicles are involved and multiple drivers/passengers are injured. It is learned that a Honda Pilot was traveling southbound on Fremont Blvd. from Mowry Ave. The Honda collided with a single vehicle near the intersection and lost control, continuing to travel southbound. The Honda proceeds to collide with 3 additional vehicles before finally coming to a rest. The collision caused traffic travelling southbound on Fremont from Capitol Ave. to Walnut to be shut down for approximately 1 ½ hours. Investigated by Ofc. Piol and Recruit Ofc. Godrich.

#022 Suspended License
Officer Blanchet was dispatched to a non-injury collision and ended up citing one of the drivers (M 28, Stockton) for driving on a suspended license.

#016 Brandishing of a Firearm
Officer Tucker investigated a late report of a brandishing of a firearm incident. The previous evening the victim was in her patio area and was approached by a male who pointed a handgun at her. The victim further stated that her phone was not charged at the time so she waited the next day to report. Investigation is ongoing.

#027 Outside Assist
Fremont Fire requested a police response for a woman who had "coded" at Bill Ball Plaza. The female had a medical issue and became unresponsive. Fremont Fire needed assistance due to a large number of people causing problems while they were trying to render medical aid. The female was transported to a local hospital where she later passed away. It appears this was medical in nature and nothing was suspicious.

#038 Chain Snatch Robbery
At 9:41 p.m., Officer Paiva investigated a chain snatch robbery that occurred on the 44000 block of Osgood Rd. The victim, a 28 year old male said a male suspect approached him in a parking lot and grabbed the gold chain from his neck.  The suspect entered the passenger seat of a waiting vehicle and it exited the parking lot onto Osgood Rd.   The vehicle was described as a white 2-door Honda. 

The suspects were described as:
Suspect # 1 - Black male between 16-20 years old, thin build, approximately 6'00" tall, short black hair, approximately 2 inches in length, short thin facial hair, last seen wearing a black jacket, dark colored pants, and new white shoes.
 
Suspect # 2 - White female, mid-twenties, unknown hair, last seen wearing a grey t-shirt and pants. 
 
#002 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Under the Influence Arrest
At 11:39 p.m., officers responded to the 4600 block of Stevenson Blvd. on the report of an ascertain the problem call.  The caller stated a male who lived near her was out in front of his home with a sword and was acting strange.  Officers arrived and contacted Gurparkash Kang (M36, Fremont) in front of the residence.  Kang was no longer in possession of the knife and it was found on the ground.  During a search of Kang, a glass pipe was located.  He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

#014 Injury Traffic Collision
A traffic collision occurred in the 35000 block of Cabrillo Dr. An elderly female was driving her vehicle when she had what we believe was a medical emergency. The driver veered into the opposite lane of traffic and drove head-on into a parked vehicle. The driver was transported to a hospital for her injuries. Investigated by Traffic Officer Hartman.

#030 Public Intoxication Arrest
At 4:49 p.m., Officer Berrier was dispatched for a report of a male who was drinking and sitting on the ground in front a store entrance.  Officers arrived and observed the male lying on the ground with a chair tipped over on top of him.  They arrested Nate Flores (M63, Fremont) near in the 3900 block of Washington Blvd.  and booked him at Santa Rita Jail.

#031 Unlicensed Driver
At 5:53 p.m., Officer Blanchet cited a 21 year old adult male, Fremont resident near Curie St and Pacific Commons Blvd.

#032 Suspended License
At 6:11 p.m., Officer Blanchet cited a 51 year old adult male, Fremont resident, near Grimmer Blvd and Auto Mall Pkwy for driving on a suspended license. 

#022 Shoplifting
At 1:35 p.m., four females entered a grocery store in the 35800 block of Fremont Blvd. in the Brookvale area and stole items.  Officers Francisco and Singh were in the area already and detained the group.  Kiara Williams (F18, Oakland) and two female juveniles were arrested for theft.

#029 Assault with a Deadly Weapon
At 3:59 p.m., Officer Gerber was driving to the PD from the Irvington area on an unrelated call when he came across John Lindberg (M50, Fremont) who was armed with a knife chasing after a 25 year old adult male victim at High St and Grimmer Blvd.  Lindberg followed commands when Officer Gerber attempted to stop him and was detained.  Lindberg advised he intended to stab the male over a domestic dispute.  He was booked at Santa Rita Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. 

#039 Public Intoxication Arrest
At 10:00 p.m., MET Sgt. McCormick contacted Francisco Sierra (M32, Union City) while he was conducting a security check at Bill Ball Plaza.  Sierra (was heavily intoxicated and passed out on a park bench.  Sierra was arrested for being drunk in public.
 
#041 Battery Arrest
At 11:03 p.m., officers were detailed to a battery call with an ambulance responding to the 500 block of Farwell Place to investigate a batter.  Officers arrive and find a 55 year old male victim suffering from visible injuries to his face.  The victim had knocked on the room of the suspect Eric Sharp (M 47, Fresno) and asked him to keep the noise down.  Sharp exited his room and battered the victim.  Sharp had been drinking and claimed that he thought the victim was someone who was coming over to kill him.  Sharp went to jail for battery.  Case investigated by Officer Burch.
