On Wednesday, July 19, 2017, CPD officers responded to the Kings County Probation Office to contact and apprehend Jason Talamantes (age 32) who was wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon incident which occurred on July 5, 2016. Talamantes was aware he was wanted and turned himself into his probation officer. On July 5, 2016, CPD officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 1800 block of Dairy Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance. The reporting party advised officers that Talamantes threw a vase during a verbal argument which struck a female juvenile in the residence. The juvenile received a laceration to the head due being struck by the vase and was treated and released at a local hospital. Talamantes had left the apartment prior to officers arriving to the scene. Talamantes was booked into the Kings County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon and cruelty to a child. Talamantes’ bail is set at $75,000.00.
