Arrest made in Windsor Oliver's barbeque theft.

Deputies make arrest in Oliver’s BBQ theft. On July 9, 2017 after 11:00 PM a suspect pulled into the Oliver’s parking lot in Windsor in a distinctive black truck with orange lights on the roof. The suspect got out, hitched up a 800 pound, 15’ barbeque trailer, worth over $6,000, and stole it. The store video surveillance system captured the theft and the video was turned over to investigating deputies from the Windsor Police Department. Pictures of the trailer can be seen on the Windsor Police and Sonoma Sheriff Facebook page.

The story was posted on our Facebook page and was featured on KTVU. An alert Santa Rosa resident was familiar with this distinctive truck and called deputies. Windsor deputies, along with detectives from the Sheriff’s Property Crimes Unit investigated the truck owner, identified as 34-year-old Santa Rosa resident Gerald Corum. On July 14, 2017 the detectives served a search warrant at Corum’s home in the 2400 block of College Park Cir in Santa Rosa. At Corum’s home, detectives found the hand dolly that was used to move the heavy bbq trailer around Oliver’s, however they didn’t locate the barbeque.

After interviewing Corum, detectives were able to confirm that he committed the theft of the barbeque trailer and they confirmed this dolly belonged to Oliver’s. Detectives arrested Corum and booked him into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. The trailer is towable and is considered a vehicle. He has since bailed out on a $5,000 bail bond.

As of this time, the barbeque trailer has not been located however Sheriff’s Property Crimes Detectives are actively working leads on locating the trailer. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the barbeque trailer, they are highly encouraged to contact Property Crimes detectives at 707-565-2185.
