Stone Valley Road Closure Continues Following Fatal Solo Vehicle Collision 
Stone Valley Road at Monte Sereno Drive may remain closed as late as midnight tonight as PG&E continues repair on the utility pole struck this morning.
The Danville Police Department continues its investigation into a solo vehicle collision that resulted in a fatality late Tuesday morning that resulted in the closure of Stone Valley Road.
Chief Allan Shields said the incident occurred at 10:35 a.m. on Stone Valley Road at Monte Sereno Drive. The driver, age 69, was traveling east when he crashed into a utility pole in front of Monte Vista High School. The driver was seriously injured in the crash and was transported by paramedics from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District to Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Details about the cause of the crash is under investigation. Information about the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
