Jakarr Thomas of Victorville arrested for attempted murder after shooting his brother

VICTIM: Victor Thomas, 21-year old Victorville resident
SUMMARY:
On July 17, 2017, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to Victor Valley Global Medical Center for a call of a man shot in the chest.
The victim, Victor Thomas, and the suspect, Jakarr Thomas, are brothers and had been engaged in a conversation regarding family issues. The conversation escalated into an argument and Jakarr shot Victor one time in the chest, then left the location. The victim was driven to the hospital by a family member and subsequently transferred by air to another hospital for treatment.
At approximately 1:05 p.m., deputies located the suspect at a residence in the 16600 block of Joshua Street in Victorville. Two handguns were found at the location, one being identified as the weapon used in the shooting. The suspect was taken into custody and booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on July 19, 2017.
