Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are assisting San Fernando PD with an officer-involved shooting, which occurred at the 12900 block of Corcoran Place, Pacoima.
Detectives have learned that San Fernando Police officers responded to several businesses on Foothill Boulevard, regarding an assault which just occurred. The call stated that a male Hispanic adult assaulted multiple patrons inside of multiple businesses.
Upon the officers’ arrival, they were unable to locate the suspect. Officers conducted a grid search and located the suspect on Dronfield Avenue south of Arroyo Street. They attempted to detain the suspect however, the suspect ran away from them and a short foot pursuit ensued. The suspect ran into a narrow alley way at which time, he picked up some dirt and threw it into the face of one of the pursuing officers, temporarily blinding the officer.
The suspect then picked up a large rock or brick and appeared to be preparing to throw the brick at the disabled officer. The second officer fearing for the first officer’s safety, fired one round at the suspect striking him in the upper torso. The suspect was detained, medically treated at the location and transported to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are responding to the 12900 block of Foothill Boulevard, San Fernando, to assist San Fernando Police Department investigate the circumstances surrounding an Officer Involved Shooting.
A male adult suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital where his condition is unknown.
