A heat advisory through Thursday evening for the following counties: Atlantic, eastern Bergen, southeastern Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, eastern Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, western Monmouth, Ocean, Salem, Somerset and eastern Union.

Finally, an air quality alert is in effect Thursday for Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Salem, Somerset and Union counties.

Widely scattered thunderstorms are also possible Thursday between 3 and 8 p.m.

Much cooler temperatures are expected Friday with more clouds than sun. Mosey said humidity levels will still be noticeable, and the chance for showers and storms continues.

Periods of light rain are possible Saturday, but for the most part, the weekend should see a mix of clouds and sunshine with temperatures in the 80s.
