Flood Warning until 08:00PM Tuesday

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinois... Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake County Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Lake County Des Plaines River near Des Plaines affecting Cook County Des Plaines River at River Forest affecting Cook County Des Plaines River at Riverside affecting Cook County Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake County Fox River at Algonquin Tailwater affecting Kane and McHenry Counties Fox River at Montgomery affecting Kane and Kendall Counties .Rivers will generally continue to rise as water from last night`s heavy rainfall drains from the smaller tributaries into the larger main stem rivers. Some additional showers and thunderstorms could produce locally another half inch of rain tonight, but rainfall tonight appears unlikely to significantly impact crest forecasts. The Flood Warning continues for The Des Plaines River near Des Plaines.

* At 845 PM Wednesday the stage was 17.6 feet.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* Recent activity...Gage datum was changed by 10 feet on Nov 14 2014. Flood thresholds and flood impacts are now 10 feet higher than previous values.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Record flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21.0 feet by Friday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday afternoon.

* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Flooding affects large areas near the river with numerous homes impacted. &&
