Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of Armando Castillo in Victorville

VICTIM: Armando Castillo, 37 years old, resident of Victorville
SUSPECT: Unknown
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 12:14 a.m. deputies respond to a report of a subject shot in the 12800 block of Boulder Creek Road. The victim, identified as Armando Castillo, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to Desert Valley Hospital. At 1:23 a.m. hospital staff pronounced Castillo deceased.
Sheriff’s Homicide Detail responded to conduct the investigation.
Investigators learned the shooting took place a few blocks away in the 13200 block of Soft Cloud Way. After the shooting, Armando Castillo’s friends drove him to the home of an acquaintance in the 12800 block of Boulder Creek Road. Once there, the friends contacted police and requested medical aid.
The motive for the shooting and the identity of the suspect are unknown at this time.
