INCIDENT: Carrying a Concealed Stolen Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: Area of Tawney Ridge Lane and Sueno Lane
SUSPECT: Lance Jones, 49-year old Victorville resident


SUMMARY: On July 9, 2017, at about 5:45 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department were conducting an area search for a subject involved in a domestic disturbance. Deputies observed a man fitting the description of the subject, walking in the area of Tawney Ridge Lane and Sueno Lane.

Deputy D. Hoffman attempted to stop the subject, identified as Lance Jones, when he began to run. Hoffman pursued Jones on foot through the desert. As Jones ran through the desert he threw a gun on the ground. Deputy Hoffman, assisted by Deputy Vogel, was able to catch Jones and take him into custody. The gun was recovered as well and found to be a semi-automatic pistol which had been reported stolen out of Hesperia.

Jones was not involved in the domestic disturbance. Jones is on felony probation and was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed, stolen weapon.
