Hit and Run Crash causing Injury to Pedestrian

On 07/08/17 at 12:14 A.M., the Janesville Police Department and Janesville Fire Department were sent to a Traffic Accident with Injury call for service near the intersection of Mt. Zion Ave and Excalibur Dr. It was reported that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and the vehicle had not stopped. The pedestrian was crossing Mt. Zion Ave. northbound when they were struck by the suspect vehicle traveling westbound.

Upon arrival, officers located a 48 year old Janesville resident with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local medical facility where they are receiving treatment.

Officers interviewed the victim and witnesses at the scene. The suspect vehicle was described by one witness as a possibly white Chevrolet Malibu. Another witness described it as a small silver four door car. The suspect vehicle was last seen headed southbound on Morningside Dr.

Several officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. Officers will be reviewing video surveillance from area businesses in an attempt to further identify the suspect vehicle.
