Here is the Canyon Country East Crime Information and Public Safety Report for the Week of June 26, 2017 to July 2, 2017:

06/26/17-Monday 

Grand Theft-18000 block of Annes Circle
During the course of a week, two cell phones, a tablet and miscellaneous jewelry were stolen from victim's apartment. 

Vehicle Theft-18200 block of Soledad Canyon Road
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1993 white Toyota pick-up truck.

Grand Theft-29000 block of Poppy Meadow Street
Deputies responded to the location regarding a shoplifting call. During their investigation, it was determined the suspects stole over $1,000 worth of merchandise. Two suspects were arrested. 

06/28/17- Wednesday

Vehicle Theft-17600 block of Pauline Court
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2015 VW Passat. 

Petty Theft-16500 block of Soledad Canyon Road
Deputies responded to the location regarding a shoplifting call. During their investigation, it was determined that the suspect stole an item and was arrested. 

PROTECT YOUR PACKAGES

If you shop online and expect packages to be delivered to your home, watch out for thieves who will take them right from your doorstep. Thieves sometimes follow delivery trucks around, and when a package gets dropped off – they swoop in a few minutes later and swipe it. To avoid being a victim of a package theft, you can have the shipment sent to your work office, or you can have delivieries sent to a relative or neighbor who is home during the day. 

You can tell the delivery driver where you would like packages left if you are not home. For example, you can have them left behind the garage, in the back yard, etc. The drivers can enter that information into their handheld computers for future deliveries. 

When you are expecting a delivery, you  can sign up for a free service called UPS My Choice, which sends an email alert letting you know when your package is going to be delivered so that you can arrange to be home.
