CELEBRATE THE FOURTH OF JULY HOLIDAY RESPONSIBLY; LEAVE THE FIREWORKS TO THE PROS
As America commemorates 241 years of independence, we encourage everyone to enjoy the holiday responsibly with respect for all. Celebrating our nation’s freedom does not justify breaking the law.
Deputies in Santa Clarita Valley will be on the lookout for illegal use of fireworks with zero tolerance and will take the appropriate enforcement action. On the Fourth of July, there will be deputies specifically tasked to proactively patrol our community and cite any individuals in violation for illegal fireworks displays. Do not let a costly citation ruin your holiday. Violators can receive a fine up to $1,000 and/or face a misdemeanor prosecution.
“We are taking enforcement very seriously and will be monitoring hot spots known to have a history of illegal fireworks use,” says Captain Robert Lewis.
As a reminder:
- Fireworks of any kind are not allowed in Santa Clarita Valley.
- Heard only illegal fireworks are a nuisance and we will be proactively looking for violations. Please reserve 9-1-1 for public safety emergencies. Our non-emergency line is (661) 255-1121.
