Windsor Police arrests teen for stealing motorized wheelchair from

Windsor deputies arrested a teenager for stealing a motorized wheelchair from Windsor High School. On June 14, 2017 Windsor High School officials notified the Windsor Police Department that a motorized wheelchair, valued at over $5000 was stolen from a classroom the night before. The wheelchair belongs to a disabled 19-year-old Cloverdale student who attends school in Windsor. It’s not clear how the suspects made entry into the classroom at this time.

A deputy following up on the case developed information that the wheelchair was abandoned by a nearby creek and he was able to find it and return it to the owner, despite several hundred dollars worth of damage being done to the chair.

The deputy was also able to review video surveillance footage from the high school that showed a group of teenagers involved in the theft. One depicted suspect, a 16-year-old boy from Santa Rosa was identified as a former student from Windsor High School.

This suspect was arrested at his home in Santa Rosa today and was booked into juvenile hall on one felony charge of possession of stolen property and violation of probation. Based on video evidence more arrests are forthcoming.
