Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a man. The incident occurred Friday, June 23, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m., on the 14100 block of Mansa Drive, in the city of La Mirada.

Norwalk deputies responded to a call of a gunshot victim at the location. When they arrived they found a male Hispanic 29 years-old inside a vehicle. The vehicle had collided into the attached garage of a residence at the location. The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Homicide Bureau investigators believe the victim was driving north on Parise Drive, turning onto Mansa Drive, while the suspect's vehicle turned south on Parise Drive from Mansa Drive. As the two vehicles were passing each other, gunshots were fired from the suspect’s vehicle into the victim's vehicle. The suspect fled the scene in his light colored vehicle, south on Parise Drive, to west on Lymark Street, and out of view. It is unknown how many occupants were in the suspect’s vehicle. There is no suspect description at this time.

Following the shooting, the victim's vehicle traveled a few houses east on Mansa Drive, and collided with an attached garage at a residence located on the 14100 block of Mansa Drive. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The victim was the sole occupant of the vehicle. There were no other parties injured in the collision.

It is not known if the incident was gang related.
