Adelanto man cited for Possession of Illegal Fireworks
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: Thursday, June 22, 2017 9:11 p.m.
INCIDENT: POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS FIREWORKS
SUSPECT: Rolando Desouza, 37 years old, resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY:
On Thursday, June 22, 2017 at approximately 9:11 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Station received several complaints of illegal fireworks being used in the area of Star St. and Coleridge in the Adelanto.
Sergeant Mark James observed the aerial fireworks and located Rolando Desouza in possession of illegal fireworks. Desouza was outside his residence and had been lighting the fireworks for his children. Rolando Desouza was arrested for possession of illegal fireworks and cite released to appear in court at a later date.
With the 4th of July holiday upon us, many people are enjoying outdoor bar-b-ques and celebrating with family and friends. Although some cities allow the use of fireworks, the only fireworks that are ever allowed are safe and sane, California State approved, fireworks. Before using fireworks and risking a citation or arrest, contact your local city government office or law enforcement agency to find out the restrictions on the use of fireworks in your community.
