Janesville Squad Struck in Traffic Crash 
On 06-22-17 at 9:54 PM a Janesville Police Officer was struck by a suspected intoxicated driver. The officer was west bound from W. Milwaukee St., through the 5 points intersection, to W. Court Street. According to witnesses the officer had a green light. Brian Gardner was north bound on Center, entered the intersection on a red light, and struck the front of the officer’s police car.
The officer was transported to St Mary’s Hospital, treated and released.
Wisconsin State Patrol handled the accident and Officer Severson handled the suspected operating while intoxicated (OWI) violation. The suspect, Brian Gardner, has two prior OWI’s he was held at the Rock County Jail on felony OWI Causing Injury. Blood results are pending.
