The Public Works Department will be removing and repairing a section of the Blanco Street 12-inch water main between the Museum buildings on the west side of Main. This water main is fed from the Blanco water tank just east of the city. The water main repair is a flood control project to help protect the museum and will most likely take most of the day on Sunday, June 25. We ask for your indulgence during this important water main replacement. Affected customers may want to take remedial measures in advance. These precautionary plans could include stocking up on drinking water and storage of water in containers to use to flush your toilet. The Public Works Department has not been able to isolate the area. We will be installing a cluster of valves during the turn-off to reduce inconvenience for future maintenance.

Affected Areas for Sunday’s water outage: West of Main, South of Hwy 516, East of Animas River, North of Chuska.  City Hall, SJCO Museum, Senior Center, Hi Country Chevrolet, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Blake’s, A&W, Bistroe, Aztec Hardware, Dusenberry’s, Barber shop on Main, Sunshine Bakery, and some private RESIDENCES.  Flyers are being delivered.
